The Jacksonville College Cross Country team had their season opener at the Nicole Leman Invitational, hosted by LeTourneau University.

The Lady Jaguars started the race off strong, with five competitors in the top ten through the first mile. The Lady Jaguars were led by freshman Logan Pevehouse who finished the race strong with a time of 20:18 which earned her fourth place. She was followed by Ingrid Santamaria and Cruzita Avila who placed fifth and sixth respectively. The top five for the Lady Jaguars were rounded out by Macie Dial and Yanelli Ruiz who placed eleventh and thirteenth. With a strong showing from the Lady Jaguars it helped take home the second place finish.

The Jaguars were led by Freshman Jayden King who placed eighth with a time of 16:33. The Jaguars had a strong team effort finishing together as a group placing 14-17. This pack running will be important later in the season and is a telling sign of the success to come for the Jaguars this season. 

The Jacksonville College Cross Country team will have their next meet at Texas A&M Texarkana Collegiate XC Invitational on Friday.
